The Barge Lock Appeal has been launched in order to raise £100,000 to restore the vital link in the centre of Droitwich Spa between one of England's oldest canals, the Droitwich Barge Canal, and one of its youngest, the Droitwich Junction Canal.

Waterway Recovery Group
have pledged to do much of the physical restoration work on the lock as part of their 2008 canal camp schedule, therefore, the £100,000 needed for the job must be raised by this summer to enable them to undertake this vital work. Once the Barge Lock is restored, this gateway between the two historic canals can be opened once again to be enjoyed by boaters and all users of the waterway for generations to come.
