All Navigations - Situation Report
Owing to recent severe and exceptional flooding, IWA is aware that the following navigations are still currently restricted.
IWA advise that no attempt should be made to disobey advice from local officers of the navigation authorities as to whether it is safe to navigate or not.
Thames
Strong streams are still apparent around wiers and under bridges especially in the Oxford area. Red boards are in force between Radcote and Osney, and Amber through to Romney. EA advice is to not to navigate where red board are displayed and to take care elsewhere. The upper reaches have many fallen or leaning trees which severely restrict navigation. Vessels down stream must give way to those approaching from upstream. Masters of vessels are requested to take care of submerged hazards which could foul propellors and cause damage to engines.
The IWA National Festival & Boat Show, due to take place over the August bank holiday weekend, on the river Great Ouse is Not affected.
