On 23 April 1949 the IWA ran an outing for nearly 250 people on the canal. Two of the boats used were the pair of working boats Warwick amd Cario worked by George and Sonia Smith, who was then an IWA Council Member and was later to become Sonia Rolt.
IWA 1963 National Rally was held at Little Venice on the Regent's Canal.
The Regent's Canal Group was formed in 1965.
