IWA Christmas Cards - Advice To Potential Artists And Photographers

We will only accept for consideration original paintings (preferred) or high quality photographs (at least 300 dpi).

Paintings may be supplied as the original artwork or in a reproduction from the original artwork capable of bring reproduced in printed form.
Photographs may be supplied as transparencies or in digital format.
Preferred subjects are winter scenes (preferably) with snow of inland waterways scenes, real or imagined, with or without boats.
Original material must be produced in proportion 3W:2H (or 2:3 if portrait), or being capable of being ‘cropped’ to that size. (Original paintings will not be damaged or defaced). All IWA cards are produced in size 7” x 5” or 5” x 7”
Items selected will be retained until the print process is completed, usually in early July, after which they will be returned to the originator if so requested.
We are not obliged to give any reason for rejecting any items supplied.
We only accept items on the condition that we may exclusively reproduce the subject as a greeting card in any quantity and at any time that we may desire and that we may offer such cards for sale at any time in the future.
(We will not offer reproduction rights to any other party except for purposes of our own advertising).

We expect that the originator will not themselves reproduce the item as a greeting card or offer any rights to do so to any other party.

When submitting items for consideration the originator should supply:

A suggested title for the work (which we may suggest be changed).

Their name as they would wish it to appear on the card.

Optional email address or telephone number also to appear on the card.

Payment

IWA as a charity will welcome the use of any such materials at little or no cost. However we are willing to offer the following in return for the use of original materials.

For Original Paintings

100 packs (1000 cards) of cards for the artist to dispose as they wish.

Or

Up to £150 in full settlement.

For Photographs

30 packs of cards or up to £40 in full settlement.

The originator may also purchse additional packs of cards for resale at our normal retail price less a 35% discount for any quantity with an individual order value over £50.

We do our best to protect items you supply from loss or damage but cannot be held liable should this occur.
