This canal runs from the Grand Union Canal at Trent Lock to Langley Mill.

River Trent to Langley Mills comprises of 15 locks over 11.5 miles or 18.5 km.

Historical Information

This canal was built to carry coal from the Erewash Valley. It was bought by the Grand Union in 1932 but fell into disuse after the war.
