The Middle Level Navigations are a network of waterways that drain the area in the Fens between the Nene and the Great Ouse. These navigations link Peterborough, Wisbech and March. There are 3 locks along the shortest route between Peterborough and Salters Lode.

Historical Information
The channels were probably used during the Middle Ages but it was the Dutch engineer, Vermuyden, who developed most of the system during the 1600s. the system was used for drainage and the transport of agricultural produce.
