West Midlands Region

Welcome to the West Midlands Region pages.

The West Midlands Region is one of 8 regional groupings of IWA's local Branches in England & Wales.  West Midlands Region includes 4 Branches: Stoke-on-Trent Branch, Lichfield Branch, Birmingham, Black Country & Worcestershire Branch, and Warwickshire Branch.

Between them, the Branches in West Midlands Region cover 510 miles of canal and river navigations with 490 locks, not including waterways under restoration.

The Branches are the main membership unit and arrange local meetings and events.
The Region acts as a co-ordinating body between the local Branches and the national committees, subsidiary companies and trustees.   It consists of a Region committee which includes the Branch Chairmen and is represented on the national Board of Trustees by a Region Chairman.
