Volunteer at IWA Festival of Water

Festival volunteers required

Every year during the Festival of Water we need volunteers for directing car park traffic, litter picking, clearing and cleaning tables, distributing programmes, donation buckets, helping with entertainments and PA, supervising WOW children’s activities, assisting with site information points and many other activities. Before and after the event we need volunteers to help with erecting marquees and other site setup and take down jobs.  This year, we would be grateful for any volunteers willing to help with:

  • Manning the Wild over Waterways tent
  • Manning the information tent
  • Car parking
  • Bucket rattling
  • Cleaning food court tables
  • Checking toilets
  • Litter picking
  • Site set up and take down.

For more information or to volunteer, tick the volunteer box on your booking form, or contact [email protected], telling us your name, phone number and email address. Or just turn up at the information desk during the festival.

Or why not Join the festival organising team?

Come and join the team of volunteers, who organise one of the most eagerly anticipated inland waterways events in the country. The IWA Festival of Water committee is looking for volunteers to join us in planning and arranging this popular event.

For more information about joining the Festival of Water team contact [email protected].

Support the waterways

Our volunteers organise events like IWA Festival of Water to provide free activities and memorable experiences on the water and beside it. Please consider donating to support the waterways.

Events

Waterway underfunding

Hundreds of miles of waterways – along with their unique heritage and habitats – are currently starved of funding and rely on constant lobbying by us to safeguard their future.

Sustainable Boating

We want boating on canals and rivers to be more sustainable and – even though the current overall contribution to UK carbon emissions is very small – we want to help reduce emissions on the waterways.

Waterways Heritage at Risk

Britain’s canals and rivers are a unique, living heritage. But that heritage is at risk – from urban development, lack of protection, loss of skills and knowledge and climate change.

You can help Save Waterways Heritage.

Waterway restoration

Restoring the UK’s blue infrastructure – our inherited network of navigable canals and rivers – is good for people and places.
