Looking for something to do over the Easter holidays and weekend? On many of the waterways across the country Easter festivals and cruises are taking place. They are sure to prove popular with all the family as many offer boat trips, Easter egg hunts, children's crafts and Hot Cross Buns! Take a look below to see if there is anything in your area.

Easter Bunny Boat Trips, Chichester Ship Canal | Chichester, West Sussex | 12th - 20th April

Enjoy a springtime trip down the Chichester Ship Canal and meet the elusive Easter Bunny. On the trip children receive a personalised present and chocolate bunny, and there are refreshments and fun for everyone.

Chichester Ship Canal Trust plans to run three trips each day departing from Chichester Canal Basin at 11.00am, 1.15pm and 3.30pm. Tickets are £10 per person and advance booking is essential - more details at the Trust's website.

Easter Egg Hunt Cruises, Chesterfield Canal | Retford, Nottinghamshire | 13th April

On Sunday 13th April, Chesterfield Canal Trust is planning Easter Egg Hunt Cruises on narrowboat Seth Ellis from the Hop Pole in Retford on the Chesterfield Canal. Trips are to depart on the hour from 12 noon to 4.00pm. All tickets cost £6 and include an Easter egg for children. Booking is essential, please ring 07925 851569.

Easter Bunny Extravaganza Cruises, Chesterfield Canal | Hollingwood, Derbyshire | 19th April

Chesterfield Canal Trust's boat John Varley, is running Easter Bunny Eggstravaganza Cruises from Hollingwood Hub on the Chesterfield Canal. Children can keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny, have a go at picture trails and enjoy an Easter egg, whilst adults relax with a drink and Hot Cross Bun.

Trips depart on the hour from 10.00am to 4.00pm. All tickets cost £6. Booking is essential, please ring 01246 551035.

Easter Boat Gathering & Sea Shanty Festival, National Waterways Museum | Ellsmere Port, Cheshire | 18th - 21st April

The meeting of narrowboats from across the UK returns to the National Waterways Museum for Easter 2014.

Over the first three days of the gathering, shanty singers are at the festival performing throughout the day and holding concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings - tickets available from Shanty UK.

Other events across the festival include demonstrations of traditional crafts, lock demonstrations, battle of the tugs and a tour of the museum’s Heritage Boatyard.

Easter Cruises, Wey & Arun Canal | Loxwood, West Sussex | 18th - 21st April

The Wey & Arun Canal Trust is running themed Easter Cruises over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend. The trips on the Wey & Arun Canal take thirty-five minutes and depart at 11.00am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm.

Children receive a chocolate gift from the Easter Bunny and adults can enjoy refreshments and the chance to unwind and enjoy the scenery.

Tickets cost £9 per person and booking in advance is advisable. More information is available at the Trust's website.

Easter Tea Cruise, Gloucester Waterways Museum | Gloucester, Gloucestershire| 19th - 21st April

Relax on board Gloucester Waterways Museum's pleasure boat the King Arthur this Easter and enjoy tea, cake and a 'Spot the Bunnies' game.

The trip departs at 2.00pm each day and tickets cost £10.50 for adults, £8.50 for children or £30 for a family of two adults and two children. To book tickets phone 01452 318200.

Easter Cruises, Chesterfield Canal | Worksop, Nottinghamshire | 20th - 21st April

Chesterfield Canal Trust is running Easter Cruises on narrowboat Hugh Henshall from the Lock Keeper pub in Worksop on the Chesterfield Canal. Children can take part in Easter themed quizzes and enjoy a small chocolate gift on the hour long trip. All tickets cost £5 and booking is essential, please ring 01246 477569.

Easter Canal Trips, Grantham Canal | Harlaxton, Lincolnshire | 20th - 21st April

Just turn up & ride fifty minutes boat trips at Harlaxton Wharf from 10.30am – 4.00pm each day. Tickets are £3 for adults and £2 for children with refreshments available onboard. Organised by the Grantham Canal Society

Meet the Easter Bunny Boat Trips, Regent's Canal | King's Cross, London | 19th - 21st April

Meet the Easter Bunny on this Easter special boat trip along the Regent's Canal. During the trip children can decorate an egg, make an Easter chick and enjoy a chocolate Easter egg!

The return boat trip takes an hour and departs Kings Cross at 11.00am, 12.00pm, 1.00pm, 2.00pm, 3.00pm, 4.00pm and 5.00pm. Tickets cost £10 for adults (16-59), £8 for children (3-15) and seniors (60+), and under 3s go free.

Historic Narrow Boat Club Easter Gathering, Grand Union Canal Leicester Line | Foxton, Leicestershire | 18th - 21st April

The gathering starts at 6.30pm on Friday night and continues through to Monday afternoon with films, craft stalls and bell ringing demonstrations amongst the entertainment on offer. Key events over the weekend include the morning boat parade, starting at the junction of the Grand Union Leicester Line and Market Harborough Branch, and an Easter egg hunt starting at the Foxton Canal Museum - both on the Saturday.

Easter Special River Trips, Norfolk Broads | Wroxham, Norfolk | 18th - 21st April

Discover the Norfolk Broads on an Easter Special River Trip with Broads Tours. Children can take part in a nature quiz, Easter egg hunt and colouring competitions and they receive an Easter Egg. Trips are £8 for adults and £5 for children (those under 5 go free), sail twice a day and include commentary from the skipper.

Easter Craft Cruises, Bridgewater Canal | Worsley, Greater Manchester | 11th - 15th & 17th - 21st April

Hop aboard Bridgewater Heritage Narrowboat Company's narrowboat Castlefield and enjoy a spring time trip along the Bridgewater Canal.

The hour and a quarter cruise includes craft activities for the children who can decorate an egg and make an Easter card as well as tea, coffee and juice.

Easter Boat Ride & Crackin' Egg Hunt, Portland Basin | Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester| 15th April

Join the crew aboard the Community Spirit Canal Boat for a family Easter Boat Ride and Crackin' Egg Hunt. On the trip listen to stories and join in with songs before hopping onto dry land to join in the family Easter egg hunt, find the clues and crack the code to win your own Easter egg, before sailing back again!
