Our new Region Chairman came to speak to us in December. This was our first introduction to the man who has taken over from Mike Carter - and who was actually Waterways Minister in the 1980's. He gave a very interesting presentation about himself and his waterway credentials. Having taken on a working boat in the early '60's with a group of friends he has cruised the canal system extensively since that time - and now owns a modern narrowboat. Robert also talked about the relationship that he thinks IWA needs to develop with CRT and other local authorities/funders.
An interesting talk which was followed by our traditional Christmas drink and mince pies!
