Join us at shows and events

Help from volunteers is needed to set up and man our branch stand at many the events we attend.  IWA Chiltern Branch was busy last summer with events including attending Rickmansworth and Slough Festivals and raising funds at the annual Lock Aid at Marsworth.

If you think you could lend a hand please contact John Brice at john.brice@waterways.org.uk or on 07740 733241.

To find out more about these take a look at Branch News or for previous years Archive 2015, Archive 2014, Archive 2013 and Archive 2012.

IWA Chiltern Branch and IWA Head Office staff are to hold a work party at Marsworth on Wednesday 26th March from 10am to 4pm. Members of the branch will be joined by staff from Head Office to contribute to a project that intends to see the area around Marsworth Locks smartened up. All those interested in lending a hand are welcome to join the group and make a difference.

The work party is hoping to begin preparing and painting the locks, weather permitting. There will also be the chance to clear overgrown vegetation from the area and litter pick, so there will be plenty to do whatever the weather. This work should help to further smarten up the area as part of a project started by IWA Chiltern Branch last year, when the branch removed the old benches that were falling to pieces. The branch is currently in the process of replacing them ready for visitors to the locks later in the year.

Volunteers should meet at Bulbourne Yard (Bulbourne Road, Bulbourne, Tring, Hertfordshire, HP23 5QE) at 10am on 26th March and are advised to wear old clothes, sturdy shoes, be prepared for the weather and bring a packed lunch if staying all day. Parking is available at Bulbourne Yard. Painting locks is dependant on good weather but other tasks can be carried out should it rain.
