Mooring & Registration Charges

All charges are subject to a maximum length of 18 metres and a maximum beam of 4 metres. Rates beyond these dimensions (Heybridge Basin only), and for off-line and end-of-garden moorings, are dependent on the circumstances. These charges apply from 1st January 2019.

Long-term Mooring

Long term mooring information for craft requiring use of locks.   

For a minimum of three calendar months, the charge per 0.5 metre per calendar month will be:

Basic £6.36 (As designated at Heybridge Basin and Springfield)
Standard £6.98 (All linear moorings not designated Basic or Premium)
Premium £7.54 (As designated at Heybridge Basin, Paper Mill, Springfield, Hoe Mill & Sandford)

A minimum length of 5.5m will be charged. Lengths rounded up to nearest 0.5m. Whole months charged – charge for current month applies for mooring occupied prior to 15th day of month.

Residential: Residential Caretakers and residential moorings at Heybridge Basin will be charged at 1.5 times the mooring rate. Residential Mooring rates at Springfield Basin are £5000 plus VAT per annum.


Short-term Mooring

Short term mooring information for Inland craft requiring use of locks, including trail boats.  

For a maximum period of three calendar months the charges will be at the Visitor Mooring rates.

Trailboats

Mooring information for trailboats requiring use of locks.   

These charges include unlimited use of the Paper Mill slipway (during business hours), but no overnight mooring

Non-Powered Craft includes all canoes, dinghies, inflatables and paddleboards, other than tenders to vessels (maximum 1 per vessel, with name on tender) that are already paying for a mooring.

Canoe/Paddleboard licences

One day and annual canoe or paddleboard licences can be purchased online.

A one day canoe licence is available to buy online. Order your licence either (a) after 4pm on the day before, or (b) on the day that you would like to use your canoe on the navigation. Licences ordered before 4pm will be valid on that day only. Licences ordered after 4pm will be valid until dusk the following day.

You can also buy an annual canoe licence online.  This provides an instant paper licence, and a more permanent plastic licence for one year is sent out by post.

The online one-day and annual licences are equally valid for Stand Up Paddleboards.

Canoe, Kayak or Dinghy Storage

Annual charge £80.00

Slipway Charges

By agreement with the proprietor of the Old Stables Tea Room.  Use of the slipway should be booked through Sarah Phillips, Administration Assistant based at Paper Mill Lock, telephone 01245 226245.
