Organising Events

Organising events can be a great way to promote your local waterway, campaign for a project, or make a visible difference to the waterside.   This information is relevant to IWA branches and local groups. Find out all you need to know about organising events:

Organise a Work Party - Arranging a clean-up on your local waterway is a good way to make a real difference to your local waterside environment.  It can be great fun too - and it's simple to organise.

Organise a Boat Rally - Organising a boat rally on your local waterway can be a useful means of gaining media and public attention for your cause, whether it's to promote a nearby restoration, or just to show the benefits that boaters bring to a community.  It can be great fun too - and it can be a fund-raiser.

Organising Trailboat Festivals - IWA's National Trailboat Festivals are usually organised by groups with a strong interest in restoring and developing a local waterway or a feature on it, or promoting an under-used waterway.  Such organisations are invited by IWA to bid to organise one of these festivals as a means of increasing public support for their project and interest in the waterway.
