Join IWA Northampton Branch at its fortnightly work party. The group holds a regular work party on the Northampton Arm to help maintain the waterway follow the Branch's adoption of the navigation.
We will be working at locks 12/13 on the Rothersthorpe flight
We will meet on the large bend before the road goes over the canal at lock 2 (I think this is called North Street). We will then use the track that runs parallel with the Arm down to the locks 6/7 area. We can then walk to locks 12 and 13. If anyone is unsure of the directions, please give Mick a ring and he will try and talk you through it.
We are going to carry out vegetation clearance on locks 12 and 13 by-pass weirs and channels, which are in quite a bad state. If time permits we will also edge the lock brickwork and do some litter picking in the area. These are the last two by-pass channels to do.
The task party will be led by Mick Butler.
All volunteers are welcome and should wear sturdy shoes, old clothes, be prepared for the weather and bring a packed lunch. Contact Geoff Wood at email@example.com for more information.
