Join IWA Northampton Branch at its fortnightly work party. The group holds a regular work party on the Northampton Arm to help maintain the waterway follow the Branch's adoption of the navigation.
We will be painting Lock 14. This was one of the first locks we painted and now requires another visit. If we have time we may do some litter picking and maybe install mile post 2. The task party will be led by Geoff Wood.
There is road car parking available on the new David Wilson site off Banbury Lane. The development is called Pineham Lock. Look for Towpath Avenue on the right after you turn in, this takes you down to Lock 14. For those using a Sat Nav, post code NN4 9DG will take you to the general area (just be aware that this is a new build area and the post code may not be recognised by your Sat Nav).
Please wear old clothing and stout footwear also bring something to eat and a cold drink with you. I will bring the tea, coffee, hot water and some biscuits. The nearest toilet facilities are available at Gayton Yard and at the Sanitation Station itself.
The times are flexible, so if you think you can only do a few hours please still come along. All tools and personal protective equipment will be supplied.
It would be helpful if you are going to attend to let me know. I can be contacted at:-
firstname.lastname@example.org or phone Mick 01604 453932.
All volunteers are welcome and should wear sturdy shoes, old clothes, be prepared for the weather and bring a packed lunch. Contact Geoff Wood at email@example.com for more information.
