Cruising the River Charente
Presentation by Bobby Cowling
The Charente, in western France, is not only a waterway of beautiful scenery, it is also a waterway through cognac country. This as an attraction to connoisseurs of fine vistas as well as of fine liqueur. Navigable for 164kms from Angouleme to the sea, it is, as yet, not perhaps the most frequently cruised French waterway. But it is steadily gaining in popularity for the scenic attractions it presents. Bobby Cowling is the Editor of Waterways World and having cruised the Charente he will talk us through an illustrated journey thereon.
