Do attend these events in our IWA area, whether on foot, by car, or by boat, as spectator, participant, crew, stall holder etc. Please offer organisers help if you can.
Note: the annual Rochdale Canal Festival of 9 days has been superceded by the South Pennine Ring Festival encompassing any events held at any time of the year on any part of the Ring (Ashton Canal, Huddersfield Narrow and Broad Canals, Calder and Hebble Navigation, Rochdale Canal). 75 miles,and many locks with 2 transpennine crossings on the Huddersfield Narrow and Rochdale Canals.

The Ancoats Canal Project hold regular work parties on the last Sunday of the month.
C&RT hold several events including open days during canal maintenace work. They also advertise other events which are planned across the network - see their Events page https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/events.

Uppermill Community Action Network (UCAN) is a dedicated group of volunteers that help keep the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and surrounding areas clear of rubbish and keep repairs up to date and maintain the area with the help of the Canal and River Trust.
FOR9 work on Rochdale Canal in the Manchester City centre on the Rochdale 9, a series of locks from Dukes 92 in Castlefield to Piccadilly Basin in central Manchester, UK. They work in cooperation with the Canal and River Trust and meet every second Sunday of the month at 11am in central Manchester.
Branch talks and meetings
Our Programme of winter talks runs from October to April and are held on the trip boat Emmeline Pankhurst moored on Potato Wharf, Castlefield on the second Monday of each month.
Branch work parties
IWA Manchester branch holds regular work parties on the third Saturday of each month as well as bigger work party weekends.
