119 people joined IWA Middlesex Branch volunteers for guided walks up the Hanwell Locks in West London as part of the Open House weekend on 16h and 17th September 2017. IWA volunteers, Keith Clayton and Raymond Gill, shared their knowledge of the history of the locks and the area alongside.
Visitors took an interest in the large display map of the waterways set up outside the lock cottage at lock 92. Members were on hand to talk to visitors about local waterways and share information leaflets.
IWA Middlesex Branch also attended Hayes Canal Festival on Sunday 23rd September 2017.
The Branch had a stand displaying information about the inland waterways, alongside other traders. At the event attendees could take a boat trip and hire canoes, kayaks and Paddleboards or try their hand at circus skills.
Take a look at the branch newsletter, Middlesex Matters, to learn more about the branch and what it gets up to.
