Twice every year, in Spring and Autumn, we hold a canal clean-up weekend, supported by Canal & River Trust and The Parks Trust, and sponsored by The Wyvern Shipping Co Ltd. The normal route is from Fenny Stratford to Old Wolverton, but every once in a while we head south, through Three Locks and Leighton Buzzard to Grove Lock. The amount of rubbish we collect each time is quite amazing! Everyone is welcome whether on a boat or on foot. We try and arrange overnight stops close to a pub. Refreshments are provided along the way but you are asked to bring your own lunch.
Why not come and join us and help with, for example, towpath litter picking or assisting with drag-lining the canal from a hopper provided by CRT. Hi-vis jackets, gloves, hard hats etc are provided, but please bring your own safety footwear if required.
If you are under 18, you must be part of a supervised group.
The Autumn 2019 Clean-up took place over Friday 11th – Saturday 12th October, working from Fenny Stratford to Old Wolverton. Read the full press release for our Autumn 2019 Canal Clean-Up.
Details for the Spring 2020 Clean-up will be posted here when arrangements are confirmed.
