Twice every year, in Spring and Autumn, we hold a canal clean-up weekend, supported by Canal & River Trust and sponsored by Wyvern Shipping. The normal route is from Fenny Stratford to Old Wolverton, but every once in a while we head south, through 3 Locks and Leighton Buzzard to Grove Lock. The amount of rubbish we collect each time is quite amazing. Everyone is welcome whether on a boat or on foot. We try and arrange overnight stops close to a pub. Refreshments are provided along the way but you are asked to bring your own lunch.
Why not come and join us and help with, for example, towpath litter picking or assisting with drag-lining the canal from a hopper provided by CRT. Hi-vis jackets, gloves, hard hats etc are provided, but please bring your own safety footwear if required.
If you are under 18, you must be part of a supervised group.
The Autumn 2017 Clean-up took place over Friday 13 - Saturday 14 October 2017, working from Fenny Stratford Lock to The Galleon, Old Wolverton. Click here to view the press release for the event.
The Spring 2018 Clean-up is expected to take place on 13 - 14 April, working northwards from Fenny Stratford to Old Wolverton. Details will be psted here when arrangements are confirmed.
