IWA's National Trailboat Festival a Success01 June 2015
IWA’s National Trailboat Festival, hosted by Lancaster Canal Trust, was held over the weekend of 30th May, with a Boaters’ Day on Monday 1st June. Twenty-seven boats attended the Festival, which was held on the Lancaster Canal at the Westmorland Showground as part of the annual canal side event, Country Fest.
On the Saturday and Sunday, Country Fest was well attended with plenty to do and see on site, including IWA, WRG, Wilts & Berks Canal Trust, Chesterfield Canal Trust and Lancaster Canal Trust stands. During the Boaters' Day on Monday, the visiting Trailboats cruised about a mile north to see Richard Parry, CRT Chief Executive, re-open part of the Lancaster Canal with a canoe group ready to enjoy the waterway.
