BW now prepared to consider overcrowding as an issue

Issue date: 1 April 2011

Following representations by IWA and other waterways organisations, BW is prepared to consider overcrowding as an issue.

The first meeting of a working group took place on 4 March, to look at the extent of alleged overcrowding  in the Central Shires BW area and the impact of new marinas in recent years thereon. The group is led by BMF, includes other representatives to together with IWA’s chair of the Navigation Committee as the only user representative. The intention is to develop criteria to objectively define overcrowding and to identify palliatives.
