IWA Stoke-on-Trent Branch and IWA Lichfield Branch have joined forces with British Waterways, The Waterways Trust, Groundwork West Midlands, Stoke City Council and some marinas in the Central Shires waterway to look at how recycling can be improved on the canal network.
A Big Lottery funding application is being developed to look into how recycling on the waterways can be encouraged. If successful, it will bring £1 million to BW's Central Shires waterways and lessons learned can be shared across the network so that recycling can be made easier for all waterway users.
BW is looking for feedback from waterway users about their current levels of recycling. They’ve developed a quick on-line questionnaire which can be filled in by boaters across the network by Sunday 10th June 2012. The survey can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/YPFBDMC
