The Wey & Arun Canal Trust’s funds recently increased by £600 thanks to a donation from IWA's Guildford & Reading Branch.
The cheque was handed over at Loxwood Lock by the chairman and secretary of IWA's Guildford & Reading Branch, prior to a walk along the canal to see the next major restoration site at Southland Lock, led by WACT project manager Eric Walker. The money will be put towards the ‘Bramley Link’, the project that aims to create a ‘green corridor’ as a public amenity at the northern end of the canal, near its junction with the River Wey. The Bramley Link will be a key element in years to come in rejoining the restored Wey & Arun Canal to the rest of the navigable inland waterways network.
