Issue date: 2nd May 2013
This year IWA will be holding its National Waterways Festival at Cassiobury Park on the Grand Union Canal, Watford from Friday 19th July to Sunday 21st July.
This event is a three day celebration of the waterways and includes hundreds of boats, exhibitors, food outlets to suit every taste, as well as our celebrated Real Ale bar.
There will be a wide range of general interest stalls and IWA’s own shop will have a stand giving visitors the chance to browse an extensive range of waterways books and gifts.
There will also be a craft marquee and the opportunity for you to acquire traditional waterway craft skills in our workshops.
IWA is also planning a full programme of entertainment for all the family including a fly past by a World War II Spitfire (external circumstances permitting), song and dance throughout the festival and a Victorian Fairground!
For serious boat enthusiasts there will be new craft on show and the full range of accessories and equipment to 'get afloat'.
Our last festival, at Burton upon Trent, attracted around 25,000 visitors over the three day period, with 360 boats mooring along the Trent and Mersey Canal and 250+ exhibitors – so why not come along and join us for this years event!
