Issue date: 1st March 2013
The Port of London Authority has announced a change in arrangements for the control of Bow Creek with effect from 1st March 2013.
In expectation of a significant amount of vessels using Bow Creek / River Lea in support of the construction and de-construction of the Olympic site, Regulation of Navigation on the River Lea above the South Boundary Stone close to the A13 bridge was ceded by the then British Waterways Board to the Port of London Authority from the 1st June 2009.
In consideration that this significant increase has not materialised, it has now been agreed between the Port of London Authority and the Canal & River Trust that navigation jurisdiction above the limiting line, just below the A13 bridge as identified on PLA chart 378, is to return to Canal and River Trust with effect from 1st March 2013.
