CRT has agreed to erect a commemorative plaque to the work of the boating people during two world wars. The plaque is to be erected in Birmingham, beside the toll office at the top of Farmer's Bridge locks. The plaque is to be unveiled on 30th May. The ceremony begins at 11am.
It is planned that Alice Lapworth, one of the few remaining working boat people, will perform the unveiling. Anyone with a historic boat is encouraged to attend the event.
