Banbury Canal Day 2017

Sunday 1st October 2017

Banbury Canal Day is an annual event that attracts around 12,000 visitors, organised and run by Banbury Town Council.

Each year IWA Oxfordshire Branch organises the water events, providing a harbour master and up to four trip boats throughout the day between Castle Quay, Sovereign Wharf and a winding point near Hennef Way.

There was be a variety of stalls including food and drink, live music courtesy of Banbury Folk Festival, funfair, and plenty of water-based action.

Canal Day 2017 was cancelled earlier this year because demolition and construction work – part of the Castle Quay Two expansion.  The work was delayed allowing the festival to go ahead.
