Fundraising Officer: £25k per annum (35 hours) / Chesham

Fundraising Officer

Salary: £25,000 per annum  (35 hour week) – 7% pension.
Hours: 35 hours per week (parent friendly/flexible)
Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire.  
Post holder reports to: Jenny Black - Volunteers Coordinator
Post holder will also work closely with the Marketing Team.

Overall purpose of the job
We are looking for an energetic, people person, with a ‘can-do attitude’ who works well in a team.

Working alongside IWA’s small Head Office team you will be responsible for co-ordinating IWA’s fundraising activities from major Appeals and raffles to sponsored walks and other events. The role will be key in helping IWA diversify and grow our income and will also involve grant applications, the management of grant funding and assisting in the delivery of projects.

You will also provide administrative support to our fundraising activities, publicising events, handling enquiries, and promoting our work on social media.

The role is suitable for someone who has at least 2 years fundraising experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the submission of funding bids to external funding agencies through to completion.
  • Monitor performance of successful funding bids to ensure they meet targets and report back to funding agencies.
  • Organise events and fundraising campaigns to motivate and involve IWA members, volunteers and new supporters.
  • Run and manage IWA’s annual Restoration Raffle and major Appeals.
  • Identify and investigate potential funding organisations and programmes which could benefit IWA, in particular National Lottery funds and private sector sources in order to ensure that a wide range of funding sources are accessed.
  • Support the development of fundraising communications via social media (eg twitter, blogging, Facebook, etc), website and traditional publications.
  • Inspire current and new supporters to raise money for the Association’s campaigns and activities.
  • Develop new and imaginative fundraising ideas.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to IWA branches in establishing income generation activities.
