Crinian Canal

The canal runs from Crinan to Ardrishaig and provides a connection between the Firth of Clyde and the Western Isles avoiding a long journey round the Kintyre Peninsular.  The Crinan Canals is 9 miles (14.5 km) long and has 15 locks and 6 swing bridges.

The maximum size of boat that can navigate throughout the Crinan Canal is
length: 88' (26.8 metres)
beam: 20' (6.1 metres)
height: 95' (28.9 metres)
draught: 9' 6" (2.9 metres)
