Dudley Canal


The Dudley Canal Line No 1 runs from Tipton Junction with Old Main Line of the Birmingham Canal to Delph Bottom Lock where it joins the Stourbridge Canal. The canal is 4.6 miles (7.4 km) long and has 12 locks. 1.8 miles (2.9 km) of that length are covered by the Dudley Tunnel.

The Dudley Canal Line No 2 runs from Park Head Junction with the Dudley Canal Line No 1 to Hawne Basin, where it currently terminates. The canal is 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long and has no locks. The canal is derelict for a further 5.3 miles (8.5km) from Hawne Basin through Lapal Tunnel and on to Selly Oak Junction on the Worcester & Birmingham Canal, but restoration is proposed. The Dudley Canal Line No2 is joined at Windmill End Junction by the Netherton Branch of the Birmingham Canal.
