Alysham Navigation

Photo of the River Bure by M. Hobbs

The Alysham Navigation of the River Bure is 9.5 miles (15.3 km) long, rises near Melton Constable and flows through Aylsham, Coltishall and Wroxham, eventually meeting the Yare near Gt Yarmouth.  It had 5 locks. The Bure Navigation Conservation Trust was founded in February 2012 to "undertake preservation and conservation (not restoration) work on the former Bure Navigation between Coltishall and Aylsham."

There is also more information about this navigation on the East Anglian Waterways Association website.
