River Ivel Navigation

The Ivel has a long navigation history, but its lock structures have been derelict for more than a century.  Restoration has been suggested at various times by IWA’s Great Ouse (formerly Cambridge) Branch and East Anglian Waterways Association.  The smallest of boats can currently navigate the river from its confluence with the Great Ouse at Tempsford to the site of the former lock at Tempsford Mill.
