Ashby Canal - Northern Reaches

The Northern end of the Ashby Canal is 8 miles (12.9 km) long, and is partly restored. The derelict part of the canal are in various ownerships.

The Ashby Canal Trust which includes Leicestershire County Council, the Ashby Canal Association and other local interests are promoting restoration of the Canal back to near its original terminus.

The maximum boat size that navigated the Ashby Canal was:
length: 72' 0" (21.95 metres)
beam: 7' 0" (2.13 metres)
