IWA is running a series of workshops to provide support for waterway restoration projects through our waterway restoration Hub.

WASTE MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

Join Canal & River Trusts' Peter Birch for this technical workshop.  Peter will consider the difficulties restoration groups face when managing waste and put forward some proposals on how to achieve good waste management for your restoration. INVASIVE SPECIES & BIOSECURITY WEBINAR

The impact of Non-Native Invasive Species is well recorded and has far-reaching implications affecting ecology, biodiversity and our environments, as well as local communities both terrestrial & marine.  There is also an enormous impact on the UK economy which has been estimated at a cost of £1.7 billion per year.

IWA and C&RT run the Annual Restoration Conference every year to provide support for waterway restoration projects. The 2020 Conference will focus on building resilience and creating connections to ensure our sector is stronger and more robust for the future.  Find out more about the Annual Restoration Conference.

EXTERNAL TRAINING EVENTS 2020

PASMA: TOWERS FOR USERS (funded by IWA)

Date: 19th September 2020
Location: Wolverhampton

This one day PASMA Towers for Users course is for volunteers who would like to learn the best health and safety practice whilst using mobile access towers and working at heights. A PASMA Card and Certificate will be awarded on completion. The PASMA card will last for five years before it is due for renewal. If you are interested in reserving a place please email rachel.bryant@waterways.org.uk

Please note whilst the course is fully funded by the Hub if you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice and we cannot fill the place, you will be charged 50% of the course fee (£50) – this is unless the cancellation is due to illness or serious unforeseen circumstances.
