The Restoration Hub is running a series of workshops to provide support for waterway restoration projects.

SPECIALIST & HIGH RISK ACTIVITIES WORKSHOP

CRT Offices, Hatton

Get up to speed on what you need to be aware of when engaging in temporary works, working at height and other specialist, high risk activities that canal restoration work involves. The Temporary Works session will be led by Emma Greenall, Temporary Works Engineers for Costain. The Working at Height session will be led by Mikk Bradley, IWA's Technical Support Officer. FOCUS ON THE ENVIRONMENT - ECOLOGICAL SURVEYING WORKSHOP
Date: Wednesday 11th September
Location: Lichfield Cruising Club

This all day training will focus on principles of ecological surveying, environmental appraisals, legislation and protected species. The afternoon will include a site visit where we will conduct a site walkover survey to put the morning's learning into practice. Course limited to 12 people. Click here to book your space. 

1 DAY EMERGENCY OUTDOOR FIRST AID COURSE
Funded by IWA's Restoration Hub 
Date: Running 21st & 22nd September
Location:Hinton Parva Village Hall, Hinton Parva, Swindon
The one day course covers dealing with incidents, calling for help, treatment of the unconscious casualty, CPR techniques, dealing with bleeding, contents of a first aid kit and medical emergencies. Click here to book.

GOVERNANCE WORKSHOP

Dan Francis, NCVO Consultant and Neil Edwards, IWA Chief Executive, will run this session covering an overview of key challenges facing boards, core legal duties of charity trustees and updates on recent changes to charity law.  Click here to book your space.

These funding surgeries follow on from the conference and will give canal societies the chance to book a half an hour one to one slot with our fundraising/enterprise experts to ask any questions which relate directly to their particular projects. The meeting will be facilitated via Zoom/Skype.
