West London Branch

Come along to a Branch Meeting or Event

The IWA West London Branch covers the West of London and holds it’s Social Evenings on the second Tuesday in each month, with the exception of July and August.

Branch Meetings are held at the Hillingdon Canal Club, Waterloo Road, Uxbridge, UB8 2QX which is immediately adjacent to the Uxbridge Boat Centre on the Grand Union Canal.

The meetings commence at 7.30 pm (doors and bar open).  We have invited speakers to give a talk and/or visual presentation on various topics, most of which have a waterways connection. These talks are typically on subjects such as nature conservation, wildlife and restoration work being done by various canal societies.

You are very welcome indeed and we look forward to seeing you at our Social Evenings. You do not have to be an IWA member to attend and indeed we welcome non-members. Do come along!

We are also involved in a number of waterway events. These offer an excellent opportunity to visit waterways in various locations and join in the fun.

IWA West London Branch AGM & Presentation by IWA National Chairman, Paul Rodgers: 7.30 pm Tuesday, 19 May 2020

The West London Branch online AGM is to take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 19 May.

Following the AGM our National Chairman, Paul Rodgers, will make a presentation on:

'Waterways Regeneration – Surviving Coronavirus'

For the past 75 years the IWA has focused on a long-term programme of restoration and campaigning. However, the challenges now facing us call for a more immediate response - and IWA's current intervention could be just as important in saving the waterways as its' pioneering work in the 1950s and 1960s.

Paul's presentation will be followed by a Q&A session and we expect this will be an interesting session giving insight into the future of the inland waterways and the actions being taken by IWA to shape that future!

The meeting will be held online using Zoom and IWA members and non-members are welcome to join.
