Every year we need over 90 volunteers to help run our activities!
Volunteered on Canal Camps and ready to take the next step to support canal restoration? Looking to give back to our amazing canal heritage? Or want to train the next generation of WRGies? Why not find out more about becoming a Canal Camp leader, assistant or cook?
What's in it for you?
How does it work?
Once you put your name forward, we will look what our planned camps are and pair you with one of our experienced leaders, assistants or cooks as a WRG Mentor. They will support you through the whole journey, from the planning and work on site to the post-camp feedback and beyond. If you don't think you're ready yet, but are interested in it for the future, let us know and we will ask our leaders to show you the ropes during a Canal Camp.

"I get so much satisfaction leading camps - seeing new volunteers start at the beginning of the week knowing no one and leaving with new friends and skills at the end! It's awesome" Becky Parr, Leader 2019
