Be part of the team .... it's all about the mud!

WRG’s leadership teams are responsible for making sure each canal camp is a fun-filled, enjoyable experience – they run the canal restoration site, organising social activities in the evenings, and ensure that everyone is still smiling by the end of the week!

Every year WRG run over 25 Canal Camps and this means we need to find over 90 volunteer Canal Camp leaders and assistant leaders each year.  If you are interested in becoming part of a leadership team or want to come along to the Leaders Training Day (12th May 2018), then email us now! For more information visit our leaders area.

Or are you born to be a feeder ...

If you've been on one of our canal camps before you will know the camp cook is the most important person! For each camp we like to have a camp cook - if you fancy cooking for 18 hungry volunteers then email us. For more information go to our cook's corner page

Why volunteer?

Volunteering to lead, assist or cook on a Canal Camp gives you the chance to work alongside new canal navvies, take part in exciting restoration projects and making a real difference to the waterways network. It also gives you the chance to ...

  • Meet new people
  • Gain new skills & make your CV stand out
  • Have fun, enjoyable and FREE holiday
  • Become a vital member of the WRGie team!

Still not sure ... why not call or email Jen at WRG Head Office for a chat.
