All Party Parliamentary Group for the Waterways

The All Party Parliamentary Group for the Waterways was reconstituted for the new Parliament on 18th July 2017. 

At its AGM on 17th July 2019 the following officers were appointed/re-appointed:

Mission Statement

The Group's mission statement is “To consider matters relating to navigable (and formerly navigable) rivers, canals, estuaries and lakes in the UK; including the potential social, economic and cultural impact of the regeneration of those waterways and extension of the system.”


The Secretariat for the Group is provided by Policy Connect working on behalf of The Inland Waterways Association.
