Wild Over Waterways

Brass rubbing

Welcome to WOW!

WOW is The Inland Waterways Association's programme of activities for children.  These can be used at home, at a local waterways event, at the local library or wherever young people might like to learn more about our inland waterways and their history.

Look out for WOW at most national IWA festivals providing activities and resources to entertain, encourage and enthuse children to use the waterways safely.

Alternatively use our guides to run your own.

Activities: Take a look at activity guides and resources, ideal for use by any groups or individuals working with young people. Try lace plate making and brass rubbing or making duck hats and boat horse masks.

Activities for IWA Branches: IWA Branches can order kit for and run any of the following activities at their local events including, dragonfly knot tying, green fishing game, waterways trail quiz, the right tool for the right job, back cabin design and colouring.

Information Sheets: Download information and activity sheets about waterways wildlife and working boats.
