River Medway


The River Medway is navigable from Tonbridge (Barden Park - Lucifer Footbridge) to Sheerness (Garrison Point). It is tidal downstream of Allington Lock. The non-tidal navigation is 18 miles (29 km) long and has 10 locks.

The maximum size of boat that can navigate from Allington to Tonbridge (Great Bridge) is
length: 80' (24.3 metres)
beam: 18' 6" (5.6 metres)
height: 8' 4" (2.5 metres)
draught: 4' (1.2 metres)
